Fly into Helena or Great Falls, Montana. Or drive and meet us there! We are staying at The Flyway Ranch, located right on the Missouri River. You will learn to teach fly fishing, learn to row or perfect your rowing skills in a drift boat, and fish for Mr. Wild (and hopefully,giant) Trout throughout your learning experience.

The Missouri River is the perfect place to learn to row a driftboat and work on skills for Mr. Big. This tailwater fishery is a renowned great western river because it offers all styles of fly fishing for wild trout. You can focus on one large sipping fish or cover water from the driftboat with nymphs and streamers. We will start in flat water and move to sections of the river that are a bit more challenging for the rower. It is a learner paced course.
You do not need to be an expert fly fisherman to treat yourself to this opportunity. The focus is on guiding, but many people take the course with no intention to guide. Learn to row a driftboat and work on honing skills as a fly fisher - all at the beautiful Flyway Ranch right on the banks of the river.
Fly into Helena or Great Falls, Montana. Rent a car and drive to Craig, a little less than an hour, and meet us there. Or, we can arrange to pick you up. Craig, Montana is fly fishing central. Fly shops carry everything the angler needs. All-inclusive meals, lodging, instruction, use of drift boats, and big fun.
